A month-long celebration in Final Fantasy XV

The limited Moogle Chocobo Carnival officially kicked off on Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. EST. The mini-game event is delayed for a day for players who are outside America, according to Cinema Blend. Players, who have the paid or free Holiday Pack add-on, will have the chance to participate in the special event until it runs out on Feb. 20.

How to attend the Moogle Chocobo Festival

Players who wish to attend the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event need a carnival pass. The passes are only available to players who have the Holiday DLC pack, which is free anyway. Those who do not have their DLC packs yet can head to the Xbox Store or the PlayStation Store depending on the platform where they play the game. Players can also get the Carnival pass through the premium version of the Holiday pack using the Season Pass.

Moogle Chocobo Festival event details

The Moogle Chocobo Carnival takes place in Altissia, which is decked out in festive decor. Upon reaching the event, Noctis will get a free Chocobo outfit and participate in several mini-games included in the event. Compared to the actual gameplay in Final Fantasy XV, the chocobo mini-game race is almost the same except that chocobos have to go through an obstacle course. A shooting mini-game is also available wherein players have to knock down targets within a time limit. Moogle and Chocobo-themed sweets and other edible bits will also be available in the Carnival. Dancing events and photo opportunities with various mascots are also available for Noctis and his team.

Engadget reported that the new Carnival event is a good way for Final Fantasy XV players to enjoy the latest franchise compared to just a solo game. Besides, Square Enix seems to be taking its time to work on official content packs. Having special events like this one should be enough to spark and renew players' interest in playing more of FFXV.
