The Wii U version of "Rive" has been canceled and only the Nintendo Switch version will be released. 

"Rive" is a shoot-em-up video game that was initially released for Xbox One, PS4, OS X, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. It was previously announced that it would be coming to Nintendo Switch and Wii U. However, developer Twin Tribes has announced that the Wii U version will be canceled, while the Nintendo version will continue although the release date is not yet confirmed.

Twin Tribes previously told Nintendo that the twin-stick shooter game would not be released until it is a solid 60 FPS. It also wants to ensure that Nintendo users will have the perfect experience in playing the game. However, "Rive" has canceled in Wii U for the Nintendo Switch together with Engine Software that is already running at 60 FPS.

According to GameSpot, the game is demanding. Players need to think fast or else they will die, especially when there is an onslaught of enemies. "Rive" is said to provide a memorable shoot-em-up experience.

In a press release posted by Gamasutra, the publisher announced that it would not develop new games. "Rive" will be the last and probably, the best twin-stick shooter game that will be available on the Nintendo Switch this year. This highlights Twin Tribes' strong tradition with Nintendo, taking into consideration that the publisher's debut in 2001 with "Toki Tori" was in Game Boy Color. 

The Nintendo Switch will be launched on March 3 at $300.
