In the official forum of the game, an announcement has been posted where Kaplan says their developers will be implementing actions to discipline players that do such activities. This means that exploiting the new mode of the game will soon be stopped in the game. The director also mentioned that any player that creates a custom game with the purpose of gaining experience while inactive and including players that join the room could be banned in “Overwatch”.

Blizzard has always been against any form of cheating in the past so their latest announcement is not surprising to their loyal gamers. Many players have already been banned and shamed in the game so players that participated in the mentioned activities should not take the director’s word lightly.

As of today, Blizzard has already changed certain aspects in custom games which include no XP reward to players and a timer for being AFK or away from the keyboard. And since “Overwatch” is one of the most popular video game today, it’s not going to be easy for the developers to monitor all player activities in the game. For that reason, the game is also encouraging players to report any form of misbehavior in the game which will greatly help them monitor all kinds of cheating.

It is Blizzard’s priority to maintain fair gameplay among all players so it is understandable why the company is taking extreme security measures to prevent any form of abuse in the game. In this way, players will continue to enjoy and engaged in the game.
