The latest updates for "Resident Evil 7" will feature reasons for Chris Redfield's new appearance and Capcom initially have more demos in the game.

The next DLC of "Resident Evil 7" will feature the return of franchise alumni Chris Redfield during the events of "Not A Hero" story, however, his return to the latest sequel met with controversy due to his physical appearance in the game.

Chris Redfield in past "Resident Evil" titles featured him having a more muscular physique in order to prepare himself to combat B.O.W.s and, in a sense, enhanced individuals like Albert Wesker. Now game director Koushi Nakanashi explain the reason for the change in Chris is due to "Resident Evil 7's" art work, Euorgamer reported.

Since Capcom has been shooting for photo realistic graphics during "Resident Evil 7's" development, the absurdly muscular Chris Redfield seen in "Resident Evil 5" and "Resident Evil 6" would look out of place in the Sequel. Capcom’s explanation makes sense, especially when one considers that this is not the first time Chris Redfield has gone through a dramatic change in appearance.

Chris original appearance in the first "Resident Evil" game depicted him as a an average-sized man, before he undergo a complete facial redesign and develop massive muscles when he was re-introduced to fans in "Resident Evil 5" during his time as a BSAA member.

Nakanashi and Capcom assured gaming fans that this is the same Chris Redfield they know and love from the "Resident Evil" canon, but it is still unknown what role will he play during "Resident 7's" latest DLC story.

Meanwhile, Capcom revealed that they have intended to feature more demos for "Resident Evil 7," but after all the discussion generated by the first demo's dummy finger, the company decided against that initial plan.

Capcom Europe COO Stuart Turner told GamesIndustry.biz that they were initially surprised by the amount of buzz generated in the "Resident Evil 7" demo due to the dummy finger and all of the secret nods it featured.

Turner added that while it was always their intention to build upon that original demo, the feedback took him and Capcom by surprise, and in discussions with global offices and R&D it was decided that they should cancel the more traditional demos they have planned for "Resident Evil 7" and increase their focus on the current demo.

"Resident Evil 7" is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
