'Street Fighter 5' Rumors: New Stages, Character Slots Leaked; New Tournament to be Held at TBS Eleague Event!

New updates for "Street Fighter 5" will feature a new stages, character slots and a tournament at the TBS Eleague event.

It seems that a new stage and characters slots are added in "Street Fighter 5" when X-Kira was able to datamined several images that showcased new stages slots and update character select screens online, EventHubs reported.

While Capcom has yet to make a statement regarding the leaked images of the new stages and characters, gaming fans were surprised and excited about the fact that more DLCs will come this year as promised to the Japanese developers for the gaming fans.

Capcom already launched Akuma and Kolin as DLC fighters for this year along with new stages. Four characters have hinted as the next DLC fighters such as Goutetsu, Matthew McCoy, Luke and Satsuki, as well as debunked reports of Taylor being in the roster.

In other news, a new "Street Fighter 5" tournament will be held in this year's TBS Eleague event. The Eleague "Street Fighter 5" Invitational is a multi-week invitational tournament, which will air on both TBS and Twitch.

The event will be hosted by Turner and the tournament features a prize pool of $250,000. The tournament will be made up of three phases. These include the qualifying rounds, the group stage, and the finals.

During the qualifying rounds, players face everyone in their respective group in a best-of-three round robin. Two players from each group with the worst records will be eliminated. The rest will move on to the group stage portion of the event.

The group stage will have players also face everyone else in their group in a best-of-three round robin. The winners of each group will move on to the finals in the upper/winner’ bracket, while the runner-ups will move to the finals of the lower/loser’s bracket. The top eight players will proceed to the best-of-five finals bracket.

The qualifying rounds in the "Street Fighter 5" tournament have started this week on Twitch.

Group stage will take every Friday throughout April and May. Group A will play on April 7, Group B on April 21, Group C on May 5, and Group D on May 12.

These matches will be streamed on Twitch at indeterminate dates as the final matches of the group will start at 10 pm EST/7pm PST and will be broadcast on TBS and Twitch.

The eight players will compete in the finals on May 26. The opening rounds for these will be streamed on Twitch, while the final rounds will be simulcast on TBS and Twitch, Geek reported.

"Street Fighter 5" is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
