A Russian media outlet claims that the country's military could neutralize US warships using electronic jamming devices. This technology could reportedly disable the entire US Navy, including planes, ships, and missiles, in one swoop.

"Today, our Russian Electronic Warfare troops can detect and neutralize any target from a ship's system and a radar, to a satellite," Russia-1's Vesti news program said. "A small jamming device with a poetic name Lesochek suppresses radio control channels with explosive devices."

The report claimed that US destroyer USS Donald Cook was left helpless in the Black Sea in April 2014 after Russia used this technology. It also stated that the Sukhoi Su-24 flew around the ship, which was equipped with US latest defense system Aegis. One of the ship's sailors reportedly then revealed on social media how there was some "mysticism" involved because the ship's locating devices shut down, the Daily Mail reported.

Veteran's Today reported in 2014 that the USS Donald Cook lost power after a Russian Su-24 bomber flew over. The vessel subsequently rushed to a port in Romania.

Retired Russian Major General Pavel Zolotarev, who serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute of USA and Canada, said that the Sukhoi Su-24 is equipped with the latest electronic warfare complex dubbed as the "Khibiny," which is capable of disabling cruise radars and Aegis defense system used to launch Tomahawk missiles using "powerful electronic waves."

"Russian electronic weapons completely paralyze the functioning of American electronic equipment installed on missiles, aircraft, and ships," the report said, attributing the quote to US General Frank Gorenc.

The report also claimed that Russia is capable of equipping its bases with electronic jamming domes that will render them invisible on radar screens. It further suggested that expensive weapons are no longer needed to win a war since the powerful radio-electronic jamming technology is enough.

The propaganda clip comes after US President Donald Trump deployed USS Carl Vinson to the Korean Peninsula amid growing tension with North Korea. The US aircraft carrier is powered by nuclear reactors, carrying nearly 100 aircraft and accompanied by destroyers, a cruiser, and a submarine.

Trump is said to be bolstering American deployment in the region and is reportedly preparing to dispatch the USS Ronald Reagan and USS Nimitz to the Sea of Japan next week.
