It could be a long shot but Chinese hacking group Pangu is expected to showcase something exciting at the MOSEC 2017 in Shanghai, China. Will it be the iOS 10.3-10.3.1 jailbreak that Team Pangu first demoed back in April or the devs will again tease that a crack for iOS 11 is a possibility? But the bigger question is: Will there be a jailbreak release happening soon?

MOSEC 2017 is set June 23 and recall that at around the same time last year, Team Pangu generated excitement among jailbreak fans by showing off an iOS 10 version, then unreleased, with Cydia running. Back then, rumors suggested the famed hackers from China were planning to provide a jailbreak solution even before iOS 10's official release. But as it turned out, nothing from the group came out.

In fact, the only decent jailbreaks that work on iOS 10 were from Luca Todesco. Yalu102 runs on most 64-bit devices except for the iPhone 7 series and Yalu1011 for the latter devices. Later on, Yalu1011 was replaced by extra_recipe+yalux that is more stable and seen to eventually replace Yalu102. The tool was the result of Ian Beer, Xerub and Todesco collaborating for the greater good of the jailbreak community.

Amidst all these half-solutions, Pangu was missing in action. But things might just change for the better with MOSEC 2017. It is assumed that a presentation from the group has to be the highlight of the event and if the plan is to electrify the jailbreaking crowd then there's nothing better than to deliver an iOS 10.3.x crack or perhaps even make the case for a possible iOS 11 jailbreak.

The scenario can be like this - Pangu can provide a sneak peek of a reworked iOS 10.3 jailbreak that was seen in April and leave hints that the tool is up for finalization soon. The latter promise makes sense since security researcher Adam Donenfeld has made claims he has discovered exploits that remain on iOS 10.3.1 and has indicated his willingness to make one of the bugs public.

So it's up to Team Pangu to make the bug work that according to Donenfeld will be revealed August. That would mean whatever Pangu will showcase this week and if it's a jailbreak solution, the public release will only happen after some weeks.

Ahead, it will be another waiting game for jailbreak fans and the fun part is they're not even sure what to anticipate for. Will it be an iOS 10.3-10.3.1 jailbreak or a crack for iOS 11? Or the whole waiting will just be in vain.
