A big $1,499 Asus tower has the lowest price tag. It includes an Intel Core i5 processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 graphics card, and 8GB of memory.

Meanwhile, the priciest Oculus Ready PC is Dell's Alienware Area 51 desktop. It includes a Core i7 processor,  GTX 980 graphics card, and 16GB of memory.

The virtual reality PCs are mostly standard gaming desktops. However, they meet Oculus' recommended specs for a superlative VR experience.

People who already pre-ordered a Rift will get a discount starting at $100, including Dell's $200 discount when buying the PC/headset packages. That will make the cheapest PC system $949, according to Engadget.

The VR-friendly computing systems are ideal for people who are new to virtual reality. It will allow them to get a quick start without needing to do a lot of research about which PCs have the required specifications.

Oculus Rift headsets will start shipping on March 28. The bundles will have later shipments.

Meanwhile, Best Buy and Amazon have provided a shipping date of April 23. Facebook-owned Oculus shares that limited quantities of pre-ordered bundles will be sent to select countries during that month.

Oculus Rift headsets will cost $599 when bought individually. They are scheduled to ship in July.

HTC Vive is sending out its rival headset in April. Its tech requirements will be similar to Rift VR, but the Taiwanese company has not released exact specs yet.

Pre-orders for Vive will start on February 29, but the price has not been announced. It recently released a manual about how to setup a play space for the virtual reality device.

Google is also developing a new VR headset that includes a plastic casing, and improved sensors and lenses. It will mainly challenge Samsung's Gear VR.
