Finally, after waiting for the last 2-years, Sony has announced the price of its PSVR device, and guess what? Yes, it is cheaper than the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. This thing will be sold for $399, which is a great starting price for those who want to experience VR for the first time.

The price is relatively cheap for those who already own a PlayStation 4. Without a PlayStation 4, the package will cost around $750 with the console, and let's not talk about the $60 for the PlayStation Camera because for some odd reason, Sony decided not to bundle the item.

Additionally, the company also failed to bundle the PlayStation Move devices, so right away folks are looking at a lot more than $399 to get the full experience out of the PSVR considering if they already own a PlayStation 4.

Chances are, Sony will bundle the PSVR with the PlayStation Camera and PlayStation Move. Folks should also expect to see a bundle with the PlayStation 4 part of the overall package along with everything needed to get the full experience from Sony's first VR attempt.

So what about the specifications? Well, this thing is rocking a 5.7-inch OLED display and full HD resolution. It should be capable of running games at 120 frames per second, but considering the PlayStation 4's GPU is not much to talk about, we doubt we'll see any titles pushing to that limit.

When it comes down to the games, we understand that 50 games will be available at launch, says Sony. Sony did not specify, but we do know that there will be a VR version Star Wars: Battlefront exclusive to the PlayStation 4.

There are rumors that No Man's Sky might get a VR version, but nothing credible just yet. Due to how the game is designed, we wouldn't be surprised if the developers went down the VR route, especially if the headset takes off, and we expect it to.

Can the Sony OSVR stand against the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive? We don't believe it can, but it should be a great device for those looking to spend less to experience VR.
