The Move It device includes four tools that can help users in their workout routine. According to Engadget, it has a resistance band, a jump rose, a wheel for the abs, and a pushup stand. While these workout tools appear to be somewhat basic, the real power lies behind the sensors and software integrated in each and every one of them.

The device has a pair of handles that has a gyroscope, six-axis accelerometer, a pressure grip sensor, and an infrared sensor which can detect distance. Once the handles are gripped, they can tell that the user is exercising and will automatically send data to the synced smartphone. The collected data are then graphed and stored so that users can view and analyze them whenever they want.

When the tools are not in use, they can be assembled back to the small package.

For some, especially the gym buffs, the Move It device may lack some serious work out tools that will help them in their routine. On the other hand, the device will seriously appeal to users who are into the Internet of Things hype who need a set of tool that can help them in their exercise regimen.

The Move It device also has its own set of social features. Collected data by the device can be shared on the Move It app and compare it to exercise data shared by other users. Through this social feature, users can compare their exercise data with their friends and can even create challenge to outperform each other.

In a statement acquired by Tech Spot, Move It co-founder and chief executive officer Ivan Ho said, "You can be ranked on a leaderboard with them, and you can poke your friends and set them goals too."

Move it is currently available for pre-order for a limited-only price of $169 via Indiegogo. Once the device officially hits the market, it will cost $230.
