According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Fruit Ninja" will be an action-packed comedy about a bunch of misfits who will use their skill in chopping fruits in mid-air to save the world. But the studio has not given its audience an idea of how that is going to happen.

Director Tripp Vinson, known for producing films such as the "Journey to the Center of the Earth," and "San Andreas," has been tapped to work on "Fruit Ninja" with New Line Cinema. The script will be written by the duo, J.P Lavin and Chad Damiani.

New Line Cinema has not announced a release date for the movie yet and has not provided details about the line-up of actors. However, the cinema has confirmed that pre-production is already in progress.

Since its release in the year 2010, "Fruit Ninja" has been enjoyed by mobile users of all ages. In fact, it is reported to be the second-highest selling iOS game with about 1 billion downloads.
