"Tom Clancy's The Division" developers ditches the idea of paid level ups and microtransactions, owing to losing gameplay.

A paid microtransaction was planned for the gameplay as it would allow the gamers to buy level up shortcuts and advance through the gameplay without completing the missions. Soon after the idea was put forth, the developers decided against it.

In an interview with the Gamespot, Magnus Jansen, creative director and leading head of The Division team, was questioned about the paid level-ups that were mentioned earlier during a poster release for the game. He replied that, "It was under consideration, but it never made it into the game." He also stated that "So there will not be any micro transactions simply like that. No shortcuts."

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is an upcoming open world multiplayer shooting game of Ubisoft Entertainment. The Division is set in mid-crisis New York, an entirely open world with destructive lethal environments, wherein the players are free to explore various architectural and geographical elements. The plot is spun around the outburst of a deadly virus on Black Friday, which leads to chaos over the entire city. The third person shooter avatar of the player is to combat the threat brought by the virus, along with finding the conspiracy behind it.

The player has to finish his missions to restore order in the city. The gameplay advances as an investigation to find the source of the virus. Players can team up with other Division agents and militants, as the game progresses. The game is developed for Microsoft Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
