MacBook Pro 2016 release date will reportedly happen in the first quarter of the year and it seems true as some retailers are still offering discounts on the previous model of the laptop.
Apple authorized reseller Adorama partnered with the Apple-centric website Apple Insider and offered a discount on the 15-inch MacBook Pro of up to $90. The discounted device will come with free AppleCare protection plans and a free Canon PIXMA AirPrint-ready printer. Consumers are also treated with free shipping and tax free in 48 states.
In order to take advantage of this offer, consumers must register and log in to their Adorama VIP account. Use the promo code APINSIDER to get the discounted price.
US electronics retailer Best Buy also offers the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display with 8GB and 128 GB of flash storage for $1,149.99, which is $150 less than its original price. The retailer also offers an open-box model for $1,045.99.
When a device is offered at a discounted price, it, sometimes, indicates that an updated model is coming as retailers and resellers exhaust the remaining stocks of the device. For retailers, it is hard to sell the old models when a new generation of the device is out.
Although Apple has not confirmed the official MacBook Pro 2016 release date, its launch was predicted since last year. The MacBook Pro 2015 received discounts all year round last year that prompted speculations that the new laptop will come by the end of 2015, which did not materialize eventually.
Meanwhile, some of the rumored features of MacBook Pro 2016 are Intel Skylake-U chipset paired with a more powerful RAM, Type-C USB port, Force Touch technology and improved battery life. The new generation of the MacBook will reportedly come in 13-inch and 15-inch screen variants with a thinner profile and most recent OS X operating system, following the price point of the previous models.
However, the Cupertino-based company has not confirmed the ongoing rumors.
