Microsoft is believed to be developing the upcoming Surface Phone. The smartphone may be released next year, along with three other phones from the Microsoft Surface Phone series.
Microsoft has allegedly registered the SurfacePhone.com domain name. The Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 is expected to come with many new and impressive specs and features.
There are rumors that the basic version of the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 will come with 4 GB of RAM, while the premium model will feature 8 GB of RAM. It is also possible that the Surface Phone will sport an Intel Kaby Lake processor, USB port, liquid cooling technology, and a 5.5-inch Active-Matrix Organic Light-emitting Diode display.
The Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 is also expected to come with other specs including a 20 MP Carl Zeiss rear camera, proximity sensor, compass, fingerprint scanner and a barometer.
The device could have a fingerprint scanner embedded in its display. Microsoft is also likely to consolidate the Windows 10 operating system with the Surface Phone 2017. It is designed for tech enthusiasts and business purposes.
It is unclear why the company has delayed the launch of the device. Some believe that the company is waiting for the release of the upcoming Kaby Lake chipset. The Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 would allegedly be able to run both Android and iOS apps on Windows 10 with minimal coding, also known as Bridge Solution.
