Rumors were on since 2015 about Huawei entering the U.S. market, and the company has finally made it official at CES 2016.
The Chinese electronic manufacturer has revealed that it would be launching the Honor series smartphones this January. In addition, the company will also be showcasing the Honor Band Z1 for its customers. Honor 5X would be leading their charge pricing at $200.
The Honor 5X has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS capacitive touchscreen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor holding 2GB of RAM with built-in storage capacity of 16GB. The phone will run on Android Lollipop 5.1 and with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it.
On the media side, the phone houses a rear camera with 13 Megapixel sensor, dual tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. The front facing camera has 5 Megapixel, f/2.4 sensor. The device is backed by a 3000mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0 technology. The smartphone has a fingerprint sensor with the latest Fingerprint 2.0 tech from the company, which unlocks the phone in 0.5 seconds. The sensor is placed under the primary camera sensor.
Huawei is also bringing its fitness band Honor Z1 along with the phone. Honor Band Z1 is Huawei's fitness tracking and sleep tracking wearable. The Huawei Honor Band Z1 has a circular design and metallic brushed bezel. It has a 128 x 128 PMOLED display and runs on a Cortex M4 processor. Honor Band Z1 is equipped with a 70 mAh battery, which can stand up to 4 days of active usage and has a standby time of 14 days, as per the company.
The Huawei Honor Band Z1 band comes in three color variants - white, cream and black. The band is also IP68-certified which means that the band is waterproof up to 1.5m depth. The band is also fitted with fast charging feature which allows you to charge the band for 10 minutes and can stand for a full day usage.
