The Sony Xperia XZ smartphone has been released in China.
The Sony Xperia XZ was unveiled at the IFA 2016 alongside the smaller Xperia X Compact. It sports a premium build quality along with top-notch specifications. It is priced at $700 in the U.S. and Rs. 49,990 in India.
The Sony Xperia XZ was earlier only available in blue, phantom black, and streamer silver color. It is built with a trademarked material ALKALEIDO which is an aluminum alloy. It is also IP65/IP68 certified, making it both water and dust resistant.
The Sony Xperia XZ has a 5.2-inch full high-definition display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a Corning Gorilla Glass on top for protection from scratches and drops. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with Adreno 530 GPU.
The Sony Xperia XZ runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system based Xperia user interface. It will soon receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update with new features such as new animations, quick reply, and side-by-side multitasking.
The Sony Xperia XZ comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in memory that can be further extended up to a maximum of 256GB. There is also has another variant released internationally with a 32GB of internal storage. It is packed with a 2900 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge support.
The Sony Xperia XZ features a 23-megapixel Exmor RS camera at the back with triple image sensing technology and five-axis active stabilization. It also comes with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The Sony Xperia XZ measures 146 x 72 x 8.1 mm in dimension with a weight of 161 grams. It is equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the right edge and a dedicated shutter button as well.
There has been no official announcement about the price of the new soft pink color variant of the Sony Xperia XZ. However, the upcoming variant is expected to be priced at $725.88 (4999 yuan), same as the other variants.
