Qualcomm and Samsung have confirmed that the Snapdragon 835 chipset will be released in the first quarter of 2017. While the two tech giants have confirmed that the chipset is set to be released soon, not much details have been provided about its performance and configuration.

The Snapdragon 835 is the result of a collaboration between Samsung and Qualcomm. The chipset is manufactured using Samsung's 10nm FinFET process. The chipset is expected to power the next generation of smartphones. There are speculations that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first commercially available smartphone to run on this upcoming chipset, according to PC World.

Both Samsung and Qualcomm have kept silent about the Snapdragon 835. Only bits of information, most of which come by way of leaks, have managed to reveal what the chipset will be like.

Aside from the Snapdragon 835, another Qualcomm chipset is also creating a lot of buzz in the tech community. The Snapdragon 830 is gaining a lot of interests lately, especially due to a leak from China which claimed that the chipset would be available sometime next year as well.

According to Phone Arena, the Snapdragon 830 chipset will sport either six or eight Kyro 200 cores manufactured using Samsung's 10nm FinFET process. Embedded on the chipset is an Adreno 519 graphics processing unit and support for Cat.12 connectivity.

Qualcomm is yet to confirm that the Snapdragon 830 chipset is really in the works. The confirmation of the Snapdragon 835 has led some skeptics to think that the Snapdragon 830 will not be release after all. However, there are still adamant followers who claim that the Snapdragon 835 will most likely power flagship devices while the Snapdragon 830 will power affordable smartphones.

Qualcomm is known for launching two chipsets at a time. This practice was highlighted when Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 821. With rumors abuzz about the Snapdragon 830 and Snapdragon 835, it appears that Qualcomm is in for an interesting year in 2017.
