The Xiaomi's GPS-equipped Amazfit Pace smartwatch with ceramic bezel has been launched in the U.S. for just $129.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace is the latest wearable gadget from the Chinese mobile maker Xiaomi. It was launched in China back in August.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace is the company's first ever smartwatch and is now available pre-sale for just $129 with shipping starting mid-December. It is also the world's first smartwatch to be equipped with a 28nm GPS sensor.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace can be connected with an Android or iOS device using the Mi Fit app. However, it does not offer the same functionality as an Android Wear-powered smartwatch since it runs on a customized operating system.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace comes with a bezel made of ceramic, making it scratch resistant. It is also IP67 certified, making it easily resistant to water and dust. The wristband can be replaceable, and the dial can be attached to any other 22nm band.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace has a 1.34-inch Always-on LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 300 x 300 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz processor along with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It is equipped with a heart rate sensor on the back.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace is also packed with a 200 mAh battery that gives up to five days of battery life. If the GPS mode is turned ON, it can provide 35 hours of battery life. It can also last up to 11.6 days for just tracking steps.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace can also be used for on-the-go payments with Alibaba's mobile payment service AliPay in China. It can locally store music files and play them with a Bluetooth headset without a smartphone. However, it cannot run on any Android apps since it comes with a built-in music player and fitness-related apps.
The Xiaomi Amazfit Pace is already on sale in China for the price of $116.42 (799 yuan).
