Google Earth is an interesting application that lets you visit places and travel the world from your desktop or laptop. The application recently got a virtual reality makeover.
The new application can be used with the HTC Vive headset. It can transport a user instantly from the Google office in San Francisco to the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Moments later you can fly to the Colosseum in Rome and then to the majestic Eiffel Tower in Paris. With the new Google Earth application, you can play the superhero and fly anywhere in the world without paying for flights in reality.
One can get up close and personal with the places and structures in rich and vibrant 3D and walk around surroundings with ease. One can even crouch down to see what party is happening at the lawn of the Buckingham Palace in England. The visits are definitely of profound experience and can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home.
The application even offers users the chance to zoom out into space and see how small the world is. The application is powered by real data and satellite imagery, so it is like browsing on photos and videos but is interesting with 3D effects.
The places are cenetred on the main urban areas and places of natural and stunning beauty. If one gets out of these places, the images lose resolution. Despite the limitations, the new application is authentic and provides an alternative perspective.
