Cubot may not be a popular or top Chinese smartphone manufacturer, but it has made a great deal of smartphones that everyone liked for an affordable price.
In Jan. 15, the company is proud to officially announce a beautifully designed smartphone, the Cubot S550in China. The handset suits premium customers on a budget especially that it is packed with metal frame around the sides and a glass panel at its back.
Coming to its specifications, the Cubot S550 is about 7mm thick with capacitive touchscreen. It has a 5.5-inches IPS LCD display with 1280x720P resolution at 267PPI pixel density. Its processor and chipset includes a MediaTek quad-core clocked at 1.3Ghz with Mali GPU and 2GB of RAM. Its internal memory is 16GB which can be expandable up to 32GB through a microSD card slot. The handset features hybrid sim slot that lets you use microSD card instead of the second sim.
On the camera line, the handset offers an 8MP front-facing camera for selfie images and video calling, and a 13MP rear camera with LED flash. It is supported with dual sim dual standby and includes standard connectivity options like GPS/A-GPS, WI-FI, Bluetooth, 4G-LTE, and microUSB port 2.0 with OTG support.
On the rear side of the S550 is a fingerprint sensor to enhance security. The handset is powered by a 3000mAh battery that can last easily for a whole day on various usage. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The smartphone is very slim with two color options, such as Black and White variants. The company did not reveal the price of the Cubot S550, but one may expect it at a price of around $170.
