According to the iPhone Service Pricing page, the replacement for a lost or broken AirPod or its charging case is worth $69. Meanwhile, repairs for issues concerning battery health that are not included in the one-year warranty coverage will cost $49. Likewise, battery repairs after the end of the warranty period will be charged at the same rate.
Despite the additional charges, Apple is commended for offering a replacement option for a few bucks. Another good thing about this product is that both earbuds can function and connect independently to smart devices.
The pricing for the replacement or repair services will vary country to country.
Apple's wireless earbuds were unveiled in September during an iPhone launch event. They are powered by W1 wireless chips that provides better Bluetooth connectivity. These audio devices can establish simultaneous connection with Apple and non-Apple devices. Under the Bluetooth menu, just select "AirPods" to execute the pairing. For non-Apple devices, just click the obscure button found on the back of the case. iCloud users with Apple devices will automatically recognize AirPods as an option for sound output.
Apart from this latest product, the W1 technology is also present in Powerbeats3 and Solo3. Meanwhile, the charging case includes a magnetic clasp to keep the earbuds fastened. It also comes with multiple LED lights that signal the user about the device's charging status.
