The Honor Magic smartphone has been released in China for 3,699 yuan ($532).
This latest handset features intelligent sensors such as FaceCode Intelligent Recognition, Hall Effect sensor, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and WiseScreen that guarantees user privacy. The WiseScreen sensor operates with the front camera and infrared sensors and will only activate the device's screen if the eyes and hands of the users are recognized. The screen also automatically locks whenever the gadget is placed inside the user's pocket.
Owners have to pre-register their face on the device because the FaceCode Intelligent Recognition feature will only show notifications to verified users. Meanwhile, a fingerprint sensor is laid on the home button of the device.
It is also supported with artificial intelligence through Magic Live to complete different tasks. For instance, it can scan user's conversation on applications and come up with a recommendation. So if a user recently talked about films, the AI assistant will automatically recommend hit movies to watch.
Apart from impressive security features, Honor Magic's specifications also meet the market standards with its 5.06 inch 2K AMOLED screen and 2560 x 1440 screen resolution at 577 ppi. It also comes with a curved screen with 3D glass covers.
This octa-core handset is powered by the Huawei Kirin 950 processor and is clocked at 2.3GHZ and with 4GB of RAM and a 2,900 mAh battery. The company claims that its quick power charge technology can charge the device's battery to 70 in just 20 minutes. It also has an internal storage space of 64GB, which is large enough to save data and applications. It comes with a 12MP dual rear camera and 8MP front camera. Other features include Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac, AGPS, Micro USB, Glonass, and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System.
The Honor Magic currently runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. It is available in golden black and porcelain white color.
