Huawei is taking the international phone market by storm. The brand reportedly sold approximately 10 million of its P9 and P9  Plus smartphones around the world in 2016. 

Huawei is likely to also have a strong year in the international market in 2017, competing well rival smartphone manufacturing companies. 

The Huawei P9 smartphone was introduced in April 2016 and received excellent praise from reviewers including The Digital Trends. Critics particularly appreciated the strong built, striking look, and the dual lens camera set up of the device. With these attractive features, the company has made it to the United States' markets. But its smartphones are not widely available in the country.

However, Huawei has performed relatively better in the United Kingdom, Spain, and France last year, where the P9 and P9 Plus were a huge hit. Statistics indicate that the company shipped around 10 million handsets for sale internationally.

These record-breaking sales were a first for the Chinese company, according to an analysis by GSM Arena. With the stellar sales of 140 million, Huawei achieved its goal of 100 million devices shipped in 2016 that it set for itself.
