According to new reports, the mobile carrier Verizon has rolled out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is distributed OTA and the software version is LMY47X.N910VVRU2BOK3.

According to Verizon, the software update has been tested to fix known problems, apply the newest security patches and optimize device performance.

The update includes removal of the preinstalled Amazon Appstore and Amazon Widgets, improvements to the Samsung Knox Platform and support for Android for Work. The update adds more features and gets rid of bloatware.

Furthermore, according to a Neurogadget report, the electronics manufacturer Samsung rolled out a beta version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6.

Reports suggested that the Samsung S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 got the Android 6.0 M beta; however, it was limited to a few users who participated in the program in the United Kingdom. It means that the Android Marshmallow update has not reached the United States.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes with many upgrades. According to reports, it is expected that the Android Marshmallow update will be a major one and it contains many upgrades.

These include a new 'Install Overnight' option which enables owners to set an update installation between 2:00 and 5:00 a.m., enhanced visibility of notification panel icons, a new set of emoji characters, extra Quick Settings toggles in the status bar when on Private Mode, for fingerprint ID - a vibration happens only when it is not identified, for the Edge - a new Task Edge panel.

The mobile carrier T-Mobile has published a list of handsets that will get the Android Marshmallow update. The handsets that will receive the Marshmallow update include the Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 5.

At present, there is no information on when a public release will roll out. The Android 6.0.1 M update is live, therefore, participants of the beta program who have not got the update can manually check through Settings > About device > Software update menu.
