A Fallout 4 screenshot was used by CNN during a report about a Russian hacking incident.
Eagle-eyed gamers on Reddit were able to quickly recognize that the picture of the computer CNN used while reporting about an alleged breach is the same computer (if not just similar) to the computer found on the video game Fallout 4.
There is a high possibility that it could be just similar to the computer found In the game. However, many have noted that it is "too similar" to the original.
The Fallout 4 terminal depicted in the featured story was aired in a segment about Donald Trump's reaction to the alleged involvement of Moscow in "Significant Malicious Cyber-Enabled Activities."
Using the Fallout 4creenshot (if it is from the video game) is quite wrong. According to gamers, the Fallout storyline happened during World War II, when Internet is still non-existent, so hacking is quite impossible, Game Revolution reported.
Reddit users had funny comments regarding the gaffe. One said that instead of using the scene from "Fallout 4," they should have used a scene from "The Matrix" instead. Another one commented that it would be much better if CNN used a "guy wearing hoodie.... sitting in a dark room, and you play ominous music."
Bethesda did not let this pass without any funny comment. Studio Vice President Pete Hines wrote on Twitter, "Wait till they discover FO4 players were actually helping Russians and cracking real security through that mini game."
