Apple's iPhone 8 and the Samsung S8 will battle it out in the market this year. Which of these smartphones would have the better display?

Several new devices were unveiled during the recent Consumer Electronic Show 2017. However, Apple and Samsung did not have any significant products to show. Samsung released upgraded versions of its already existing line of products, while Apple did not participate.

Nonetheless, both companies are thought to be preparing for major product launches. Apple and Samsung will be releasing their flagship smartphones this year. Apple will not be releasing an S version of the iPhone 7 but will jump to the iPhone 8.

Samsung, on the other hand, will be releasing its Samsung Galaxy S8, which is expected to have better screen display than its predecessors. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 7 come with AMOLED screens.

Apple could go head-to-head with Samsung when it comes to using the Super AMOLED display screens. The Cupertino-based tech giant reportedly needs a considerable amount of AMOLED displays, possibly for the iPhone 8, TechRadar reported.

AMOLED stands for "active-matrix light emitting diode." It can provide high levels of vividness and color compared to LED and LCD screens. For the past years, Samsung has won Apple when it comes to display.

Apple's iPhone 8 is expected to be launched in three different models: a standard, a Plus, and an expanded display (similar to an Edge) version. There are rumors that the iPhone 8 will ditch the home screen button entirely.
