The Alcatel A3 XL smartphone was officially launched at the recent Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Alcatel A3 XL is the latest smartphone from TCL's smartphone brand Alcatel. It is the first device under its new A series with entry-level specifications.
The Alcatel A3 XL has a polycarbonate shell with a textured finish on the back and a slight curve to give it a nice grip. It has a huge 6-inch high-definition IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 244 ppi.
The Alcatel A3 XL is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8735B chipset clocked at a speed of 1.1 GHz on board. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box with slight customizations.
The Alcatel A3 XL comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in memory that can be further extended via a microSD card slot. It is packed with a 3000 mAh battery that can give more than a day of usage.
The Alcatel A3 XL features an 8-megapixel camera at the back with LED flash that can record high-definition videos at 30 frames per second. It also comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video calls.
The Alcatel A3 XL is equipped with a circular fingerprint scanner to make it a bit more secure, a loud speaker at the bottom rear, and the power button and volume rocker on the right edge. It also comes with dual SIM card slots. Other connectivity options are 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio port, and micro USB 2.0 port.
The pricing details of the Alcatel A3 XL is yet to be announced. However, it will be available in Asia, Middle East, Latin America, and Africa in the first quarter as well as in Europe in the second quarter of this year.
