British luxury car maker Jaguar has unveiled the latest version of its F-Type sports car. The new line of Jaguar F-Type sports cars are expected to hit showrooms within the first quarter of this year.
The refreshed series of the F-Type range feature a new model, the Jaguar F-Type R-Dynamic. This model is expected to fit in between the current F-Type S and F-Type R models. Jaguar is also expanding the range of the F-Type series with the addition of the new one-year-only 400 Sport model which will be in between the F-Type R and the new F-Type R-Dynamic models, according to Drive.
Counting the two new models, Jaguar will be pushing the total number of F-Type models to 28, a figure that could easily match its closest rival, the Porsche 911 range.
The Jaguar F-Type R-Dynamic will have a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine which is available in two configurations. One can be tuned to produce 250kW of power with 450Nm of torque, while the other model packs 280kW of power and 460Nm of torque.
The Jaguar F-Type R-Dynamic will be available in both convertible and coupe body types. Transmission choices are between an eight-speed automatic and a six-speed manual gearbox delivered to a rear-wheel drive system.
The new Jaguar F-Type R-Dynamic sports a gloss black fish for the bonnet vents, front splitter, rear diffuser, side sills, and the bumper's aperture bezels.
On the other hand, the F-Type 400 Sport model packs the same supercharged V6 engine but tweaked to output up to 400-horsepower. According to Jalopnik, the Jaguar F-Type 400 Sport also packs bigger brakes, and Configurable Dynamics which allows users to set the car into different types of driving conditions.
Jaguar is yet to confirm the official pricing of the new F-Type series. The company has, however, hinted that it would hit showrooms within the first quarter of the year.
