The HTC U Play smartphone has been officially launched alongside the HTC U Ultra smartphone.
The HTC Alpine is the codename for the HTC U Play, while the HTC U Ultra is said to be codenamed for the HTC Ocean Note. Both smartphones are under the all new U series from the Taiwanese mobile phone network company HTC.
The HTC U Play has a more palm-friendly 5.2-inch full high-definition touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a pixel density of 428 ppi, 16M colors, and an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in memory that can be further extended up to a maximum of 2000GB with the use of a microSD card.
The HTC U Play is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset coupled with Mali-T860MP2. It runs on the Android 7.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box. It is packed with a 2500 mAh Li-Ion (Lithium Ion) non-removable battery that can give enough power for a whole day of usage.
The HTC U Play features a 16-megapixel primary camera at the back accompanied with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for better selfies and video chats. It comes with a LED flash. It measures 145.99 x 72.90 x 7.99 mm in dimension with a weight of 145 grams and 8.5mm thickness.
The HTC U Play is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts nano-SIM and nano-SIM. Other connectivity options are NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB, USB OTG (on-the-go) support, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, 3G, and 4G/LTE. Sensors include the gyroscope, compass magnetometer, accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
The HTC U Play is available in brilliant blue, ice white, cosmetic pink, and sapphire blue color.
