Apple released the iOS 10.2.1 update on Jan. 23 but fans are still eagerly waiting for the iOS 10.2 jailbreak. Chinese hacking group Pangu is said to be working on it but has delayed the release. The reason why is not clear but it is speculated to be due to the regular patches from Apple. It could also be that the group is waiting for Apple to release a more stable iOS 10 version.
Pangu has reportedly carried out a demo of the iOS 10.2 jailbreak's vulnerability. Important security updates are said to make the jailbreak malfunction. Pangu is still offering the iOS 9.3 firmware on its site and it is currently the best jailbreaking tool for its ability to circumnavigate the Apple OS firmware.
Pangu has hinted that an iOS 10 jailbreak tool will be released soon. In fact, the group announced that it will release a jailbreak tool in less than a month after a major iOS update is released. There is still no such tool yet, and with the debut of the iOS 10.2.1, it is now or never for the group. Pangu could indeed release the iOS 10 jailbreak tool soon but the hacking team has not confirmed this yet.
Meanwhile, popular iOS hacker and security expert has revealed that he will release an iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool in the coming days as well. Stefan Esser said that the upcoming jailbreak tool will solve the issues which came with iOS 10.1.1. Many have been anticipating the iOS 10.2 jailbreak for a long time now but the only jailbreak tool currently available is the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak by Luca Todesco.
The Yalu iOS 10 can free 64-bit devices which run iOS 10.0 to 10.1.1 but it is still in the beta testing stage. It works with the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPad Pro.The iPhone SE with TMSC processors can now be modified as well. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s could be next. Unfortunately, the beta version is not effective on the iPhone 7 yet.
