Nokia now has a digital voice assistant named MIKA which stands for, Multi-purpose Intuitive Knowledge Assistant. This voice assistant is specifically built for engineers and telecom operators to quickly grasp the information needed to fix network-related problems and to provide solutions to engineering and telecommunications questions.
MIKA is not like any other assistant. This Multi-purpose Intuitive Knowledge Assistant is powered by Nokia's cognitive services platform or the AVA platform using augmented intelligence combined with automated learning which aims to provide a wide range of tools, documents, and other data sources.
MIKA provides adequate and fast information through voice dictated services to make it easier for engineers to fix network related issues. Nokia had stated that MIKA "will enable operators to focus on key business tasks without being distracted by the complexities of multi-technology network environments."
Nokia has also introduced the Predictive Repair, a Nokia AVA-powered service which forecasts potential hardware failures up to 14 days in advance. This digital voice assistant will be able to recommend a course of action depending on the problem by recalling how similar issues were resolved previously.
"Finding the right information is a daily challenge for telco engineers tasked with boosting network quality. MIKA taps into the power of the Nokia AVA platform to provide quick and accurate answers, avoiding time wasted on fruitless searches. MIKA is customized to support the specific needs of telecoms, and can deliver recommendations based on experience from networks around the world," a statement from Igor Leprince, head of Global Services at Nokia, said.
MIKA is somewhat exclusive only to engineers and operators since it lacks the function to cater to users compared to other assistants like Siri or Cortana.
