New "Resident Evil 7" details will feature the sequel returning to Raccoon City and a rumored debut on the E3 2016 event soon.
Capcom has been busy with their "Resident Evil" game franchise as of late as they are currently promoting "Resident Evil 0 HD" for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms and have been developing other titles such a "Umbrella Corps" and "Resident Evil 2" remake. However, gaming fans are wondering if Capcom will be working on "Resident Evil 7" sometime this year.
Game producer Masachika Kawata stated in an interview that they are not in the state to talk about "Resident Evil 7" at the moment, but urge gaming fans to wait for further details soon.
Several gamers were somewhat skeptical of what direction the game franchise is going through due to the numerous attempts of making the game diverse from its survival-horror theme to action-packed pace, that fans began to lose interest in the game franchise.
Kawata added that the numerous spin-off titles could be the reason why the game is losing its horror effect and the best way to bring the franchise back to life is to bring back to its roots.
With that being said, it seems that Capcom could be bring "Resident Evil 7" back from its original setting, Raccoon City. Capcom cited Naughty Dog's award winning video game, "The Last of Us" as one of the few games that brought back the survival-horror theme, and judging by the success Capcom made with "Resident Evil HD REmake", it seems that they will repeat the same formula, Moviepilot reported.
Raccoon City is featured in three "Resident Evil" games in the first PlayStation console, "Resident Evil", "Resident Evil 2" and "Resident Evil 3: Nemesis". It is the same city where in Umbrella Corp. developed several experiments for the T-Virus, which caused an outbreak within the city and turned everyone into zombies and mutated monsters.
Several rumors indicate that Capcom will likely debut "Resident Evil 7" in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo event, since this one of the biggest video game events this year, NSAVOICE reported. So far, Capcom has not yet made a statement regarding the speculated appearance on E3 2016.
"Resident Evil 7" has no released date yet and Capcom will be providing more details soon.
