Despite reports of unexpected delays the past few months, Apple finally released their much-awaited Beats X earphones on their online store.
Following the current Apple wireless trend, the Beats X earphones, like the AirPods, are wireless earphones that connect to your iPhone and other devices via Bluetooth. But because they're encouraged for use with Apple devices, it's assisted with an Apple wireless W1 chip to make pairing much easier and faster.
The main and noticeable difference between the new Beats X earphones and the AirPods is that the former is not completely cable free. Instead, it has a remote-equipped cable that goes around your neck to help keep the earphones in place. This makes it a better alternative to the AirPods when engaging in physical activities, or when you're simply not comfortable with going completely cordless.
The Beats X, which comes in four different colors (gray, white, blue and black), also has an "optimized noise isolation" feature, up to 8 hours of battery life, Siri support, and quick and efficient "Fast Fuel" charging that gives the user up to 2 hours of battery life after just 5 minutes of charging.
Unless you live a particularly active lifestyle, choosing between the AirPods and the new Beats X might be grueling. But you might have to wait about 6 weeks before getting your hands on the sold out AirPods, whereas you can have the Beats X the very next business day for $149.95.
