OnePlus, a Shenzen-based company, released its flagship model OnePlus X smartphone in November 2015, where the smartphone received mixed reviews within three months of its release. However, it is said that the phone will get a better judgment after February 2016, when Xiaomi will release its flagship smartphone - the Xiaomi Mi5.
OnePlus X is a 5-inch budget phone with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. PC Advisor highly recommends OnePlus X due its metal build and easy switch between three different notification profiles. OnePlus X runs on Android Lollipop, has a 3GB of RAM with a 16GB internal memory. OnePlus X offers a microSDcard slot that can extend the devices' storage of up to 128 GB. OnePlus X is equipped with a 13 MP rear camera sensor and an 8 MP front snapper.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to launch after Chinese Spring Festival (February 8-23) in China. The company announced that the upcoming flagship smartphone will be released a week after its launch date.
Since Xiaomi Mi5 is Xiaomi's most anticipated smartphone of 2016, it is said that the hype around it was built by Xiaomi executives. NDTV reported that Lei Jun (Xiaomi's CEO) said that Xiaomi Mi5 shall be "worth the wait" and will offer "very very good" features and specs. It is worthy to note that this statement was made way back November 2015, so it will be safe to suggest that they may either stick to what they have promised or go beyond what consumers are expecting.
According to some reliable sources, some features in the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 will be a 5.2-inch display screen, 13 MP front snapper that is good for selfies, 16 MP rear camera and a 3600mAh battery capacity. Xiaomi Mi5 shall be launched in two versions - one that has a 3GB of RAM with 32 GB built-in memory and a 4GB of RAM device with 64 GB internal storage. The upcoming Xiaomi flagship device is likely to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
According to International Business Times, Mi5 is likely to get a higher score over OnePlus X, on account of its more durable battery, better camera, larger screen and for sporting latest Snapdragon 820 chipset. Xiaomi Mi5 is also likely to sport a USB Type-C port and fingerprint sensor that OnePlus X lacks.
