A new character named Swamp Thing will appear to NetherRealm Studios' DC Universe 'Injustice 2', according to IGN's recently released video. The humanoid-plant elemental being enters the 'Injustice 2' roster together with the recent Black Canary, bringing the game's confirmed list of characters to 19.

Swamp Thing is in essence a swamp monster that looks like a humanoid mass of vegetable. The character seeks to protect and fight his swamp home, the environment, and all of humanity from different uncanny and other types of threats.

Swamp Thing was created by the writer Len Wein and artist Berni Wrightson in the early 70's. The creature starred in an eponymous film directed by Wes Cavern. In the mid 80's, the creature made a return in The Sage of the Swamp Thing comics. Then later on appear again in The Return of the Swamp Thing, a sequel movie.

Swamp Thing's skill set is taking advantage of his ability to control vegetation. The character has a suite of long range attacks that allows him to take hold of the enemy from afar and can even quickly close in to the enemy with teleportation-type skills. The creature even creates clones of himself while fighting enemies just like the popular Noob Saibot of 'Mortal Kombat'.

Swamp thing is one of the game's most requested characters, coming in just behind Blue Beetle in a poll created by Ed Boon, creative director of NetherRealm.

'Injustice 2' is a fighting type of video game that is based on the fictional universe of DC Comics. The game was published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by NetherRealm Studios. It is a sequel to 'Injustice: Gods Among Us'. The game will be playable for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will be released this May 16,2017. The game will be having a mobile version that will also be developed for iOS and Android devices just like the previous installment.
