The Division, Massive Entertainment has Aannounced it is Working on a new Game, 'The Avatar'

(Photo : Daniel Sempértegui(CC BY-NC-ND 2.0)) Ubisoft has announced that The Division developer Massive Entertainment is currently working on a game based on the world of James Cameron’s Avatar.

The Avatar Game is a 2009 third-person action video game prequel to James Cameron's Avatar. The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Wii and Nintendo DS.

It uses the same technology as the film to be displayed in stereoscopic 3D, As of May 19, 2010, the game has sold nearly 2.7 million copies. The company released a trailer, where only footage from the Avatar film is shown. However, Massive developers and even James Cameron himself discuss the project. Massive is teaming up with James Cameron's production company, Lightstorm Entertainment, and Fox Interactive on the project.

According to IGN, no plot details were revealed, but Ubisoft said in a statement that the game "will continue to expand and deepen in the Avatar universe in an exciting and innovative ways along with the films.

"With the power of Massive's Snowdrop game engine and the team's passion and obsessive focus on detail, we know they're the right group to bring the beauty and danger of Pandora to life," Cameron said in a video accompanying the announcement.

No release date has been announced yet, nor has a specific title or any details about gameplay.  Ubisoft said the game will be headed to PC and consoles, but didn't name any specific platforms yet.
