The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature three new DC characters teased in the roster and new game modes to balance the Gear System.
NetherRealm Studios announced that a new DC character will be revealed this week on March 2 as new clues have surfaced regarding his/her identity. The game developers recently a launch five characters in the roster; Swamp Thing, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Cheetah and Cyborg.
The first possible DC character is Black Adam, who hinted to be in "Injustice 2" due to someone from Reddit posting photos of several settings in the DC Comics Universe. One of these places happens to be the kingdom of Kahndaq, Black Adam's home. Black Adam was one of the playable characters in the first "Injustice" game as part of Superman's Regime.
The second character possibly joinning "Injustice 2" is Green Arrow, who is first spotted as part of "Injustice 2" mobile's promotional advertisement, WWG reported. Green Arrow, like Black Adam is also a playable character in the first "Injustice" game and has joined Batman's side before he was killed by Superman in the comic book prequel.
Lastly, another Reddit user posted a photo which featured a duffle bag full purple gems, a dynamite and a photograph. If observed carefurlly, viewers see that the person in the photo is The Joker, this hinting that the Clown Prince of Crime could return in "Injustice 2". The Joker played a huge role in "Injustice 2" as he is responsible for the death of Superman's love interest Lois Lane and their unborn child, along with the population of Metropolis. This led to Superman's corruption and eventual rise to power.
In other news, NetherRealm Studios will likely announce new game modes that will nullify the players dependence on the Gear System.
Community Specialist Tyler Lansdown explained that the Gear System will affect the playing styles of each character in "Injustice 2", thus enabling the players to have an advantage on their opponent.
However, several concerns were raised by gamers regarding the Gear System and pointed that it could have a serious imbalance within the game. Luckily, NetherRealm Studios announced that there will be new game modes that will offer an even playing field and the use of the Gear System will not be included, PlayStationLifeStyle reported.
"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
