The highly anticipated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is finally here and it is not only better than the GTX 1080. NVIDIA claims that the GTX 1080 Ti us the fastest gaming GPU in the world, naming it the "Ultimate GeForce." The company launched the latest GPU at the Game Developers Conference on Feb. 28.

"It's time for something new, something that's 35 percent faster than a GTX 1080, something that's faster than Titan X Let's call it the ultimate GeForce," shared NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun. "Year after year after year video games are getting more and more beautiful, so we're introducing the next generation high end so you're ready to enjoy next generation games."

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti us designed to manage 4K gaming graphic demands easily and offer unparalleled virtual reality experiences. It comes with an innovative thermal solution which allows for high airflow and vapor chamber cooling. It offers up to 1.6 GHz and deploys the Pascal architecture.

It uses the GDDR5X RAM instead of the HBM2 but can still maximize and extract the same potential. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti comes with 12 billion transistors and 11 GB of RAM and allows for the connection of the GTX 1080 and the flagship Titan X as well.

The new GPU is externally identical to the GeForce GTX 1080 but its cooling solution and power supply were redesigned. IT carries a 220W TDP rating which is better than its predecessor but less than the 250 Watts of the Titan X Pascal. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is about 35 percent faster than the GTX 1080 and costs 699.99.
