Since the last quarter of 2016, the rumor mill is spilling alleged specs of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6. The rumor mill has now revealed newer information on specifications, release date and price of Xiaomi Mi 6.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium that was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 on Feb. 27 is officially the first commercial smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 835. Rumors from last year have been saying that the Xiaomi Mi 6 would be the first domestic smartphone to run on Snapdragon 835 SoC. It means it will be the first smartphone in China to be powered by SD 835 chipset, Indian Gizmo reported.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has a 5.15-inch screen, but its successor is expected to house a slightly larger display of 5.2 inches. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the resolution of the phone. However, rumors claim that it may continue to feature full HD display like Mi 5. The screen of Mi 6 will be protected by 2.5D curved glass, Gizmo China reported.
The Xperia XZ Premium is praised for its marvelous 19-megapixel rear snapper. It supports the recording of super slow motion videos of HD resolution at 960 fps and it can shoot moving images that is dubbed as Live Photos on iPhones. Fresh rumors suggest that Mi 6 would be featuring similar camera features.
Xiaomi is now rumored to release its upcoming flagship smartphone in three variants of RAM and storage. The first two models will feature 4 GB of RAM but will come in storage choices of 32 GB and 64 GB. There will be a high-end model that will include 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage.
Xiaomi Mi 6's base model is expected to cost 1,999 Yuan ($290) whereas the topmost variant is pegged to be available for 2,499 Yuan ($362). The Chinese firm is expected to unveil the Xiaomi Mi 6 on April 16.
