Square Enix will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of its popular RPG series, and many fans are rooting for "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date to be revealed March.

Square Enix has kept the fans guessing about "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date. It has been a few years since the final entry to the KH series was confirmed to be in development. But alas, no release window or a launch date has been set for the game.

Many were hoping that it would take place at MAGIC 2017, where Tetsuya Nomura was present. However, Nomura only teased fans with new screenshots "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy 7" Remake.

The teaser image showed exciting gameplay details from the title. Other than that, there was no mention still of a release date.

However, there are now talks that the game's official release date may be announced at the 15th anniversary celebration this March. The game developer will be launching the "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX" on March 28 in Japan as PS4 exclusive.

The collection pays tribute to this remarkable milestone of the franchise. Also, the first stop of live "Kingdom Hearts" concerts will happen on March 10.

In more news, game director Tetsuya Nomura recently looked backed at the time when he first took on the first project for the franchise in 2002. In his latest talk with Final Fantasy Dream as translated by KH13, Nomura recalled the time when he created Sora as the protagonist in the game's story.

He was asked how he persuaded the people at Disney and Square Enix to place a non-popular hero over choosing Donald or Mickey as the lead character.

"I showed [Disney] a design, and it turns out that I often do not listen too much to what people are telling me," Nomura said. I said to them, 'No, I do not want to do that,' and finally it happened...It surprised everyone. From there they did not continue too much to impose their ideas on me."

Nomura has been at the helm of the "Kingdom Hearts" series since, which expands close to 10 sequels over a timeframe of more than a decade. The game director added that he sees the franchise as a turning point in his career.

Pre-order for "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX" limited edition is up now at Square Enix store. The collection offers a promise of 15 years worth of KH with remastered adventures. "Kingdom Hearts 3" is being developed for PS4 and Xbox One.
