Passionate gamers of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" can unlock Ash's Pikachu and in a pretty much easy way this summer. Information leaked recently suggests that the adorable Pokemon is returning to the Pokemon video games via a special distribution event in Japan.
This latest development was reportedly leaked in the latest copy of the Japanese Magazine CoroCoro. It revealed that this distribution event is part of the promotion for the 20th Pokemon anime movie.
When players of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" place a pre-order for the tickets of the new movie, they will be able to grab a Pikachu sporting one of the hats won by Ash over the entire timeline of the anime series.
Each pre-ordered ticket provides a redeemable code to use to unlock Pikachu. But note that the hat worn by Pikachu will depend on the dates that they redeem the code. For example, they can have the Original Cap from April 15 to May 1 or Hoenn Cap from May 3 to May 15 and so on.
Each serial code also arrives with Pikashumium-Z, a Z-Crystal that comes with a special Z-Move and 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt. However, it is not yet known if players can collect all of Pikachu wearing each of the hats or they need to select which one they want for their Pikachu.
For now, this distribution event is only available for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players in Japan. But it's highly possible that the same event will hit the US and Europe when the new Pokemon movie is released in the West later in the year.
Meanwhile, the registration is now open for the next Battle Competition for "Pokemon Sun and Moon." The Kanto X Alola Regional Rumble competition is a single battle competition which has standard rules that only allow Kanto and Alola Pokedex.
Players can't use Mewtwo, Mew, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, and Magearna. The use of Mega Stones are not allowed either. The battles will kick off March 17 and end on March 19.
