Google is now on the works of the next version of its OS, the Android 8.0. The name of the next OS is not yet revealed but reports suggest that it may be 'Oreo' another flavor that starts with an 'O'.

A report by Venture Beat reveals some details about the features of the upcoming Android 8.0 that will be expected to be released in May at Google's I/O developer conference. Here are some of the reported features that the Android 8.0 will be having.

Copy Less Feature:

The new Copy Less will provide a hassle-free and straightforward copy and paste from one app to another. Basically, it reduces down the process of a traditional copy and paste by creating suggestions in Gboard, according to Gizbot.

Incorporation between Maps and Messages:

This new feature is reported to be in iOS devices. The feature will give Android users the ability to tap on a certain address in a message and have Google Maps directly open and guide them to that location. However, it is still uncertain that as to whether Google Maps link is restricted to the Android Messaging app or be made available to other messaging apps.

Finger Gestures:

This feature will allow Android users to perform tasks with fingertips on their smartphones. For example, if users draw a letter C on the screen, Android will then show a certain list of recent contacts. Though using OK Google can be used for opening up contacts but a gesture on the screen could be faster, according to reports.

It might still be too early to have a talk about the new Android OS in spite of the latest version of Android still available to only a few smartphones. However, if reports are to be taken on a serious note then surely Google is working really hard on the big Android 8.0 release.
