Lots of gaming enthusiasts want to know what Rockstar Games has up its sleeves for "GTA 6" as the follow-up to the immensely successful "GTA 5". However, the game developer has kept its cards close to its chest that not much is known about the game sequel.

This has not stopped tipsters, leakers and fans to speculate as to its possible release dates and what they will likely see next in "GTA 6". So, here's a round-up of the latest ones that have made the rounds online.

Possible Release Date

"GTA 6" is already confirmed to come out of Rockstar Game's pipeline at some future time. But until now, it has not announced even a release window for the sixth title in the franchise.

So no prize for guessing, many are saying that the game will see its release in 2018, which appears to be an educated guess especially to those who have been keeping track of the game releases over the years. The developer have maintained a five-year gap and "GTA 5" was launched in 2013. By doing the simple math, a 2018 release sounds just right.

But new reports state that the release date will fall within 2019 and this might the case because of "Red Dead Redemption 2". The long-awaited RDR sequel is given a fall release window, hence, the development team could be needing a more ample time to develop and support this title. It goes without saying that it will push the "GTA 6" release date further to 2019.

Female Protagonist

Now that the game series is on its sixth entry, fans are wanting to see fresh content that will inject a different feel of excitement in playing the game. The rumor mill just keeps on churning that a female protagonist will be introduced and will be played by the drop dead gorgeous Eva Mendes. Her real life partner Ryan Gosling is also claimed to voice the lead male character.

Next Locations and Other Features

Other rumors surrounding the release of the next GTA game suggest that players will explore a new location that is outside of US. One of the several possible settings is in London while some say gamers will return to Liberty City.

Lastly, "GTA 6" is also said to feature a Virtual Reality (VR) support to jump on the bandwagon. However, this comes with a downside and will further the delay the game's release.
