The official launch date of Samsung Galaxy S8 duo is March 29. Their pre-orders and global release date have been revealed by a Korean media.
According to ET News, Samsung will begin the pre-orders of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on April 7 in South Korea. The pre-orders will end on April 17. The shipping of both flagships will begin on April 21.
The Seoul-based firm is expected to hold pre-launch events on April 18 through carriers like SK Telecom, KT and LG U+. Through the pre-launch events, Samsung will give its fans a chance to win prizes worth 3 million won ($2,645). it will also give away Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Gear S3 smartwatch as prizes. It has been revealed that pre-launch event is a sudden decision.
Samsung will also its fans test drive the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones between April 18 and 20. Both phones will be available for purchase from April 21. The global release of Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones may happen on April 28.
According to BGR, supply chain insiders have revealed that the shipments of Galaxy S8 and 8+ will begin through one of the Canada-based carriers on April 28. In the past, flagship phones have launched on the same date in the U.S. and Canada. Hence, it is unlikely that Galaxy S8 duo will release in Canada before they arrive in the U.S.
Samsung is rumored to release the Galaxy S8 duo in two chipset variants of Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ fueled by SD 835 is expected to come to markets like the U.S., China and Europe. The European and Asian markets are pegged to get the Exynos 8895 SoC variant of both phones. The SoC will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. However, the company may release 6 GB RAM variants in the home country and China. Both phones are pegged to feature dual-edge curved screens.
