A cat owner heard her pet's meow and a loud thud after the animal got stuck in the car's engine before a two-hour-long trip to a Costco store. The Washington State resident heard the sounds coming from the hood of the vehicle, then discovered her feline trapped behind the motor. Three people's act of kindness helped to remove the car part and pull out Thomas the cat.
Sarah Ann Stevens was traveling from Chewelah to Spokane. While driving she had smelled the scent of burned hair exiting the vehicle's vents, according to KGW.
She shared that after lifting up the car hood she was shocked to see her cat. Stevens then walked into the tire center crying because she felt concerned and guilty about her pet's wellbeing.
Two customers gave a Costco employee named Jake the tools he needed to remove the component Stevens' pet was stuck in. Jake then pulled out the kitty. Sarah grabbed him from the Costco worker as soon as he was free.
The three men had predicted that Thomas would run away or try to scratch someone once he was free from the engine. However, Thomas quickly curled up in his owner's arms.
Stevens shared that her cat did not scratch or bite anyone during the whole time. That was true even though he had to be pushed and pulled to be freed from the engine.
She reported that Thomas was not injured badly. He just has a small scratch or minor burn on his nose.
Stevens explained that she has owned Thomas since he showed up at her house two years ago. However, she now wants the cat to live in the countryside to prevent the event from happening again.
She posted a message on a Facebook group explaining she wants her pet to have a new home, according to Daily Mail. Stevens explained that Thomas the cat is sweet, but he grew up in the country so he should not live in a town.
In a similar news story a cat in Serbia recently got stuck in a vending machine outside a movie theater. The recent weather has been snowy so the feline was likely trying to get warm.
