Apple is known for being strict on releasing any details in regards to their upcoming products which makes any rumors and leaks of Apple products very rare. The company's upcoming release is the latest version of the iMac which a lot of people have been waiting for.
Apple is still committed in continuing to produce more desktop computers in the future years. Tim Cook even mentioned before that desktops brings importance into the company as they are very strategic for them, reported by Mac World.
The iMac that is still in progress is technically the same iMac that was launched last October 2015. However, the newer model has received a few internal upgrades and new features through the versions of its operating system but the device itself still has not really changed at all. Naturally, Apple is expected to release a new and improved iMac this year which will make it the next evolution of the iMac line.
The upcoming Apple iMac 2017 is reported to be powered with the new Intel Kaby Lake processors and the new AMD Polaris 10 or Polaris 11 GPUs. It is also expected to have a 5K Retina display which will be for the 27-inch variant. Furthermore, the device is said to sport the latest input and output ports which includes the USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3. Also, the device will come with a full flash storage system and Touch ID, according to Science World Report.
Almost all reports suggest that the Apple iMac 2017 will possibly be unveiled at the upcoming Apple WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) event which will be held from June 5 to June 9. Unveiling some new software updates is expected from Apple at the event. However, the iMac could be a part of the unveiling event of the company.
