'Pokken Tournament' Update: Wii U Controller Cannot Be Used In Other Games; Pokemon Fighting Game To Have A Championship Series, EVO 2016 Debut!

(Photo : Facebook/Pokken Tournament) Pokken Tournament is an arcade fighting game developed by Bandai Namco as it features different Pokemon characters fighting in a "Tekken"style gameplay.

New "Pokken Tournament" details will feature a championship series, an EVO 2016 event debut and several glitches and problems its Wii U controller.

The exclusive Wii U controller for "Pokken Tournament" is now available in Nintendo's official website and retailing store Amazon, however, gamers soon discover that the Wii U controller is not all what it seems as several reports revealed that the controller has some problems.

First of these problems is that the Wii U controller can only be used for the Player 2 as the Player 1 will be stuck using the GamePad when playing "Pokken Tournament" in two player game modes. The second problem is that the controller can only be used in "Pokken Tournament" only, meaning the controller is not compatible to other Wii U video game titles.

Several gamers speculate that the "Pokken Tournament" Wii U controller has some software design flaws as Nintendo told Gamespot that they will be making a statement soon regarding the problems within the Wii U controller's flaws.

Aside from the Wii U controller problems, "Pokken Tournament" will be appearing in the EVO 2016 event on July15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This will be "Pokken Tournament's" first debut in an EVO event and Pokemon fighting game will be join by other video game titles such as "Street Fighter 5", Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3", "Guilty Gear Xrd -RELEVATOR -", "Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U", "Killer Instinct", "Tekken 7" and "Mortal Kombat X".

The Pokemon Company announced that "Pokken Tournament" will have its own Pokken Word Championship series and it will be held in San Francisco as part of the 2016 Pokemon World Championships, IGN reported.

The event will be invitation-only for participants who have qualified throughout the season and championship series will start on Aug. 19-21. "Pokken Tournament" will feature a number of pokemons fighting in one-on-one Tekken-style combat.

Playable pokemon characters include Pikachu, Pikachu Libre, MaChamp, Suicune, Machamp, Lucario, Gardevior, Weavile, Charizard, Blaziken, Sceptile, Gengar, Braixen, Garchomp, Mewtwo, Chandelure and Shadow Mewtwo.

Players will also have secondary pokemons as support players such as Lapras, Nine Tails, Eevee, Whimsicott, Jirachi, Mismagius, Emolga, Fennekin, Snivy, Frogadier, Dragonite, Rotom, Togekiss, Victini, Pachirisu, Magikarp, Sylveon and Croagunk.

"Pokken Tournament" will launch on March 18 for the Wii U console.
