The latest details for the new "God of War" sequel will feature a possible 2018 release date for the PS4 and new gameplay on June 2017.
Several rumors are making rounds regarding the release date for the new "God of War" on the PlayStation 4 as gaming fans theorized that the father and son poster of the game in Europe could indicate that Santa Monica Studio has started it promotional phase for the sequel.
Many gamers speculated that "God of War" will likely launch sometime in 2018, while others speculated that it could happen on December this year due to the placeholder in Amazon website, PlayStation Universe reported.
Meanwhile, Sony and Santa Monica Studio could feature a new gameplay for "God of War" on June. Again, this points to the game's poster as father's day will be in June 18 and they might preparing for more game details for this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo event.
Sony showing "God of War" at E3 2017 is a safe bet for gamers, but what they would like to know is the release plans for the sequel, if ever they will announce it.
The overall event, E3 2017, will run from June 13 to June 16 and Sony is one of the company’s appearing this year. God of War, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and new unannounced projects will be shown during its press conference, SegmentNext reported.
Previous reports speculated that Kratos in "God of War" will receive Thor's legendary hammer Mjolnir as a possible final weapon and it is equivalent to the Sword of Olympus.
Lead gameplay engineer Jeet Shroff stated in an interview that Kratos' son Atreus will be instrumental in the new "God of War" gameplay teasing that he is much more of a passive character. Gamers can direct Kratos' son in combat as Shroff stated that their is a a button that can summon the boy in battle, which sort of a twisted "Father and Son" bonding.
Gamers can upgrade the "Father and Son" feature as they progressed in the game as Shroff explained that the Kratos' son can go toe-to-toe with his father and even kill enemies on his own.
The new "God of War" will launch sometime in 2017 or in 2018 for the PS4.
