Game publisher Electronic Arts has officially announced that "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" and a new "Need for Speed" game will be playable at EA Play which traditionally takes place a few days before the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) event in June. Also, "FIFA 18" and other upcoming games from the publisher will be revealed at the event.
EA will opt out of E3 this year, and instead, it will host an event from June 10 to June 12 at the Hollywood Palladium, according to PCGamesN. The publisher will show off its upcoming titles, announce new games, and show new footages at the EA-centric event.
Some new games will be playable on the show floor of EA play. These include "Star Wars: Battlefront 2," "Madden NFL 18," "FIFA 18," new "Need for Speed," and "NBA LIVE 18", EA confirmed in a statement.
In addition to these titles, more announcements are expected in the coming days of other playable games.
During the event, the publisher will provide fans with detailed gameplay, exclusive interviews particularly with the development teams, and also competitive events.
Fans who cannot physically join the event can participate online with an extensive content program provided by Electronic Arts. The game publisher has extended an invite to fans to join and experience EA Play whether in person or watching online on June 10.
For those who want to attend in person, tickets will go on sale at Hollywood Circle at 9 a.m. PST on April 20. EA will provide more details in the coming days to give the fans an idea of how their ticketing process will work.
"Star Wars: Battlefront 2" is expected to be launched later this year, and it is expected that new information on the game may be released next month at the Star Wars Celebration. The event will happen on April 13 to 16.
