Fans of "No Man's Sky" have just received another update for the PS4 and PC. It brings in an improved frame rate and makes it perform better with V-Sync disabled and with the unlocked frame-rate.
The Patch 1.24 for "No Man's Sky" is now available to download and according to Daily Express, it weighs in at around 1.4 GB on PC and 3.9 GB on PS4. This new patch is another follow-up to the Pathfinder update in fixing an issue that causes players' bases not to appear. The freezing and locking up of the game when in space is also fixed.
In addition, the latest patch optimizes light shafts, allowing the developer to enable them on PS4. The issues with Steam controller prompts are also addressed.
There are some minor performance optimizations and some rare crashes and freezes that were addressed, however, the patch notes did not mention any details. The full notes can be accessed via the game's official website.
The previous "No Man's Sky" update is Patch 1.23 for both PS4 and PC. It brought fixes to some issues with the game's Pathfinder expansion, however it appears that there are still issues that remains unaddressed.
The Pathfinder update added a new Permadeath mode, which means that it's game over for players if they lose life. It also added new land vehicles, allowing players a new approach to explore the planets.
It brought PS4 Pro support, base sharing, graphics improvements and new guns and ship/weapon specialization. The vehicles can now be summoned from anywhere with the Exocraft Geobays crafted on any planet.
The Update 1.23 was primarily based on feedback from players. It included the new option to lock the PS4's framerate to bring stability to the game.
